An E-step is a step that is completely electrically powered. The extra thick tires make riding an e-step a unique experience that cannot be compared to riding a normal e-step with thin tires. If you would like to experience it yourself, we would like to invite you to visit us. We guarantee it will be an entertaining experience!
An E-Step has a maximum range of about 45 km. This means that you can easily take a beautiful day tour around Haarlem and the beautiful surrounding villages such as Zandvoort, Spaarndam or Bloemendaal!
No driver's license is required to drive an E-Step. Wearing a helmet is also not mandatory.
However, the legal minimum age to drive an E-Step is 16 years.
Are you, or someone you are riding with, younger than 16 years old? No problem! At Hartje Haarlem you can also rent E-Fatbikes that are suitable for all ages and have the same top speed. This makes it ideal for going out with the whole family!
The E-Steps are made for one person. That is why it is unfortunately not possible to ride an E-Step with two people.
The maximum speed of an E-Step is 30 km/h.
Electric steps usually fall under special mopeds. As a driver of an E-Step you must follow the same rules as moped riders. This means that, just like moped riders, you have to ride on the cycle path in most cities.
This means that you can drive on roads that are indicated with a blue round sign with the icon of a bicycle. Both bicycles and mopeds are allowed on these paths.
A road indicated by a rectangular blue sign with the text 'CYCLE PATH' is only accessible to cyclists. You are not allowed to drive an E-Step here. Don't know where you want to drive or how to get there? Then use one of our routes with an easy navigation app!
Of course! Of course you are free to explore yourself or follow your own route.
